so.
life. whattup? bout to go put my re-admission form to umass boston tomorrow. then friday my new tattoo. pretty fucking stoked. ive been checking out so many bands on myspace(ask me why, but i coudnt tell you.) and theyre all so similar. i just want a new band thats refreshingly original. like im super excited with new music from thrice, green day, blink and more coming out. but i feel like the last new band i really got into is like… the dear hunter? and theyre not that new, i just found them like…7 months ago? so thats new to me. i’m just worried for the new rock generation. im afraid that there wont be new bands that stand for something like against me! and green day with trying to keep fans informed with politics and whats wrong with the world. or bands like thrice who donate a % of all album sales to great causes like getting people in africa clean, disease free water. and i feel like they dont even get the cred they deserve for that shit. back in the 60-70’s bands like the beatles were revolutionizing rock’n’rolls meaning and the music its self. they were blowing minds while taking a stand against all the terrible things going on and i feel like all the up and coming bands of now aren’t really that involved in whats going on, in informing their fans, encouraging them to vote, and help change the current state of things. the future is our mess and we didnt make it but we’re sure as hell gonna have to clean it up for our kids, and still maintain our lives well enough to get what we want to get done done. these are scary times and i feel like some eyes need to be opened and the entertaiment buisness is always flourishing in depressions because people go to it to get away/forget their problems, but that wont solve anything. the people who have everyones attention should use it to educate and entertain. not just entertain.
