Okay so I’ve been seeing this picture everywhere and I just can’t take it anymore. This is by far one of the dumbest comparisons I have ever had the displeasure of viewing. Personally, I don’t even think the Zeppelin lyrics are that good, but personal opinion aside, this is completely subjective. I could compare the Bee Gee’s lyrics to different modern lyricists from vastly different genres such as Jesse Lacey or Eminem and get the same effect. Music is as inspiring, progressive and powerful as it ever was, you just have to turn off the top 40 station and look for something meaningful.
1970’s Lyrics
Whether you’re a brother or whether you’re a mother, You’re stayin’ alive, stayin’ alive. Feel the city breakin’ and everybody shakin’, people, Stayin’ alive, stayin’ alive. Ah, ha, ha, ha, stayin’ alive, stayin’ alive. Ah, ha, ha, ha, stayin’ alive
-The Bee Gee’s
2000’s Lyrics
beauty supreme. Yeah, you were right about me. But can I get myself out from underneath This guilt that will crush me and in the choir I saw our sad Messiah. He was bored and tired of my laments. Said, “I died for you one time, but never again”

But can I get myself out from underneath
This guilt that will crush me
and in the choir I saw our sad Messiah.
He was bored and tired of my laments.
Said, “I died for you one time, but never again”
